Outlook 2007 Data Check Problems

Sep 24, 2008 4:37AM PDT

Help!

I recently re-installed my Vista (went to 64 bit my one key program failed to work so back to 32) and since then, about 1 out of 3 times I open Outlook , it says it needs to check my data file. I have no idea what is causing this as it rarely happened before. Suggestions? Thanks!

Have you updated Office/Outlook 2007 to Service Pack 1? If not, please do.

Next, is the program usable? Although it asks for a data check, does the check work out corrrectly and does Outlook then work as it should? If that's the case, then you aren't alone.. A lot of other users of Office 2007 have similar complaints.. Apparently, Outlook doesn't close well, especially for those with a large .pst file, and as a result, upon startup, the data check window loads to verify the integrity of the data files.. In some cases, the problem is fixed by simply waiting 15 seconds before closing Outlook after pressing the "Send/Receive" button.

Hope this helps.
