Let's start with the first thing you should do. Call Microsoft and report it. What you may not know is that MS has patches you can't get unless you call it in.
And in closing, that issue happened to us in Outlook 2000, XP and 2003. We never found a solid cure but reduced the number of hangs by (a) removing activesync and (b) switching to text emails.

I am using an HP Pavillion dv9000 laptop, with an AMD Turion 64x2 processor (1.80 Ghz), and 2 GB of RAM. The system is running Windows Vista Home Premium, and all updates are installed as they become available. I have McAfee Security Center version 8.0 installed. This McAfee installation also includes the following: VirusScan 12.0, Personal Firewall 9.0, SiteAdvisor 2.6, Anti-Spam 9.0, Privacy Service 10.0, Wireless Network Security 3.0, EasyNetwork 2.0, and Data Backup 2.3. I also have MS Office 2007 Professional installed, which is where I am running into problems
Typically, I will have Outlook open, while I perform other tasks. 5 - 10 times per day, outlook will crash. First I get a popup indicating that MS Outlook has stopped working nomally, and that outlook is checking for a solution to the problem. then a second message appears, indicating that Outlook will be restarted. This occurs quite often over the course of a day, and is becoming quite a nuisance.
Are there any ideas as to what could be causing this, and are there any solutions to correct it?
