Outlook 2003 SP2 Malfunction

by outbound.cnet / April 2, 2007 7:20 AM PDT

After defragmenting a week or so ago I received for the first time a Disk Defragmenter message box stating ?Some of the files on this volume could not be defragmented. Please check the defragmentation report for the list of these files. The report lists 4 fragments of 178 MB in Documents and Settings/(my name folder)/Local Settings/Application Data/Microsoft/Outlook/outlook.ost. Today I had trouble connecting with the Exchange Server and once I finally did, my Outlook is running really slow and inconsistently, even slowing down IE & WE. My hard drive is making a repetitive pattern of sounds sometimes when Outlook is open. I scanned all the Outlook folders in the Outlook folder above with SCANPST and they are all reportedly fine. I try using SCANOST and I get this message every time: ?An error occurred while OST Integrity Check Tool scanned your folders. See the OST Integrity Check message in your Deleted Items folder for more details.? When I open that message it lists ?scanning folder Inbox? on the final line, where it apparently burps. Any idea what?s happening and how I can fix it?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
