Outlook 2003 autocomplete English words to Spanish or ??

Jan 6, 2011 5:35AM PST

Have the Spanish version of Outlook 2003. Have selected English as the language, but it still wants to change what I write when starting an email to words that do not always seem to be Spanish but that are totally not appropriate. For example, when writing, "No problem picking you up," gets changed to "No problema Licking you up." Very aggravating. Is there a way to disable this process?

but I understand that language problems like this can only be solved by installing the appropriate English Language OS. That would mean a reinstall to remove the Spanish OS and install again and selecting English as the language.

Outlook 2003 autocomplete

The techs recently reinstalled Outlook 2003 because I wanted to delete a bunch of fonts I had tried out that come up at the top of the list above the double line, and that is when the problem started. The OS has not changed. I think it's in the spellchecker, but have big problems functioning in the Spanish.

If this is a Work computer we would always refer you back to the IT department people. We couldn't recommend making changes to workplace systems that might be contrary to office policy.

If those IT techs made an error, then perhaps they should put it right.

But in any case I don't understand why the techs would set up Outlook in Spanish if this is an English operating system.
