Something else I tried:
I "added" my gmail account to Outlook and ran Test Settings - nothing arrived in my Outlook inbox but they were there in my gmail inbox when I signed on to my gmail account via google. Not sure if this proves or disproves anything.
I am running Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3. About a week or so ago (approx aug 25), my email client, Outlook 2002 SP3, stopped sending emails. It receives them (though not from itself) but when sending, nothing reaches destinations, which is to say that they make it into the Outbox and I click Send/Receive, and they go, and appear in my Sent items just as they should, but they are not actually going anywhere. I have used my ISP's web client and everything works just fine. I have spoken to them and they say my email config on their servers is correct. I have also confirmed both incoming and outgoing servers with them to ensure I have them right (I do) along with server port numbers (110 in, 25 out). My connection is over a cable modem. When I Test Settings, everything competes succesfully but no test message ever arrives. When I Show Progress via Tools=>Send/Receive Settings, no errors appear. As I said, the client seems to be doing everything normal. But when it gets to the internet, poof. My ISP says everything is OK and points to the fact that the web client is working AOK. Plus, I am receiving messages just fine.
Things I have tried:
- uninstalling Office XP Pro 2002 and re-installing
- deleting the two Outlook profiles i have on my PC as well as the corresponding email accounts (via CP=>Mail) and recreating
- deleting my antivirus (AVG 9.0 Free) and re-installing without email scanning
- read every post on tech forums I could re outlook receiving but not sending
- Enabled logging and tried reading the log file but I am not fluent in omplogese
I have stopped short of blowing away the pst files as there are a lot of messages there I do not wish to lose.
Anyone familiar with this issue that could point me in the right direction?
Many thanks.
