Outdoor WAPs not accessing internet

by nyabz / January 9, 2018 2:39 AM PST

I cant get to the web anytime my devices are connected onto an outdoor access point.

I get a tentative ip address whenever I am on the outdoor WAP.
The indoor APs are working fine and the ip addresses are within the vlan subnet they are meant to be in.

use Ubiquiti Unifi APs running on a server.

recently upgraded firmware.

I do not know what to do to make the outdoor APs work.

All the settings seem ok.

That installed this or sold it. They should have guides for installation and configuration. I can't guess how the install was done or if the installer didn't configure this setup. Get back to the installer or maker.

don't you need to open a browser
by James Denison / January 9, 2018 8:32 AM PST

and enter a username and password to access it? You may also be allowed on MAC address connection at a time.

True. Like I said, the indoor APs are working, this is where I got a chance to log into the network via the browser. so it shouldnt ask again jsut because I am on another AP?

Did you try to reboot the AP ? and then configure new network again in unifi controller software? When I tested Unifi AP sometimes there were no connection and afterone or two reboots everything worked for me

I have tried rebooting several occassions. can actually connect to the AP, get full bars on it, but it is just not getting to the internet. The ip address is in the correct vlan and all. no policy on firewall blocking that vlan.

I have even rolled back the upgrade i did but still no progress

Well I'm sorry but I think you have to contact Ubiquiti support team. Tell me one more thing. This problem is a new one? I mean at the begining of AP use everything was fine or the problem occurred right away ?

Which outdoor WAP are you connected to
by Cyclops1983 / January 10, 2018 6:45 AM PST

Which are the outdoor access points that you connect to after which you cannot access the web? Are the WAPs your neighbors or your in control?
