Question

out of date drivers

Apr 6, 2017 1:36PM PDT

Some computer help sites I've checked say' no such thing as out of date drivers' , 'these updates not necessary'. So, what do you say ?

Answer
I agree. Do not fix what is not broken.

There are exceptions if there is a security issue but for decades now, I do not update drivers unless there is a good reason.

My short list, may be too short.
1. A security reason.
2. A performance gain. (rare except for graphic cards.)
3. The driver/device is not working.

if you are not having any problems, most of the time, there is absolutely no reason to update.

Answer
Update Important Drivers
Apr 9, 2017 9:15PM PDT

For me, if there are some important drivers such as graphic, audio, network drivers, I will update it to the latest version. Of course, for the Logitech special game devices, I will update it. For the other devices, I will keep it until it muse be updated.
