OTTO'S Print Screen - Short Cut - goes to dialog box

One more thing - new drive - clean install XP Pro SP2 - New download of Otto's Print Screen - unzip - create new shortcut. When click on shortcut - goes to security dialog box that asks if I want to Run or Cancel. Prior install - when clicked on shortcut - went directly to the small Otto's Print screen control box. Now goes to security dialog box first - then have print screen problems as describeb in first thread. Thanks

I think you will like its simplicity. I made a folder under my documents and set the software to save all captured images there. Just a convenience and for me to always know their location. There are other settings options... you can try and see what you like best.

Glenn - I go to Screen hunter - and it says "free" - but somehow I wind up with a trial version - that looks like it self-destructs after 15 days - unless I buy it ??

One More time - GIMP ??

In reply to: You're welcome...

Hmmmm - seems to create a "Gimp??" file - Now what??

All I'm looking to do is capture a piece of the screen - a portion of text, or include a picture - send it to the printer - ? nothing fancy - the prntrscrn feature doesn't allow me to capture the entire screen - and cuts off print toward the right side of the screen. The utility would allow me to drag over the piece that I want - click print/preview to make sure I have what I want - then actuall print it.

If this works - I'll just have to play with it for a while.

Thanks - John

John... you having problems????

In reply to: One More time - GIMP ??

You are getting beyond my pay grade here. Not sure I fully understand your problem and not familiar with GIMP.

For my use it copies any portion of a page that is needed that I save as a JPEG file. Those can be printed but may take some tinkering for the result to be appropriate. Never tried to capture a full page but do not see why an entire page could not be selected by moving the capture lines to the edge of the page.

My suggest, as you mention, is just to play with it for a while. Sometimes first impressions that seem complex turn out to be simple. Wink

Good luck!

Glenn
