Resolved Question

Other than iPhone 6, sim free and unlocked?

Jan 25, 2015 1:10AM PST

The current carrier competition has me shopping for the best deal. However, I am only aware of the iPhone 6 and 6+ can be purchased as totally compatible with all networks in the USA and internationally.
I REALLY like my android. What other options do I have and best place to purchase?

I got my answer. Both iPhone 6 and 6+ and Google Nexus 6, when purchased unlocked (no carrier lock), and sim free (without a carrier sim) are full functional on any carrier. I pulled the two paragraphs below directly from reviews.

Google and Motorola only make one American-model Nexus 6, which covers every applicable band for AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon. That includes 3G GSM and CDMA, as well as 4G LTE and carrier aggregation.

The contractless iPhone 6 starts at $650 and is compatible with Verizon (VZ, Tech30), AT&T (T, Tech30), T-Mobile (TMUS) or Sprint's (S) networks. The unlocked iPhone can also can be used abroad, letting people globe trot without being tied to a single carrier. It comes without a SIM card, which customers have to get from their cell phone company of choice.

http://www.ebay.com/gds/What-Are-the-Differences-Between-Unlocked-and-SIM-Free-Mobiles-and-Smartphones-/10000000177589819/g.html covers this but basically there is yet to be a CDMA unlocked phone. Let's not go down that discussion hole or tar pit again.

For this round I'm going with unlocked to mean just that.
Also Sim free means the phone arrives without a SIM.

There are thousands of models that can be had this way. I tend to pick such up on Amazon or directly from Google's own store for Nexus models.

Do you have something to contribute?

Because the first reply wasn't complete or correct.
And , yes, I did cut and paste from a review, (as I noted) if for no other reason than to confirm such phones do exist.

Do you have something to offer, intelligent discussion, person experience? Not so much?

Other half of my question still open

The Nexus 6, in white.... Motorola is out of stock. As is every other site.
No matter, I am playing waiting game while carriers beat the day lights out of each other.
