You can disassemble some ipods and replace the battery yourself (can be bought on e-bay for far less than Apple charge). But I have to warn you that it's tricky to open the ipod and I destroyed the control wheel connector on the one I tried to fix.
Luckily it was a dumpster find and had both a dud hard drive and dead battery.
There are tutorials on You Tube -- but they make it seems easier than I found it to be.
I need to replace my ipod nano battery and apple is giving me the runaround. does any places like radio shack or best buy offer these services?
