OTG y cable support for high res audio output

Nov 10, 2014 8:43PM PST

I am new to tablets but I would like to use a tablet to play high resolution music thru USB sound output device for my car and be able to charge it at the same time. I would be happy with a large expandable storage slot vs using an external hardrive but if OTG would support multiple peripherals and charge I am good with that too!

Req:
- Play high resolution flac files (min 24bit/96khz) with digital output as source for digital input to car system
- have ability for expandable storage at least 64gb
- Win8 would support my exiting high resolution Usb device
- support of multiple peripherals a plus

Never seen that.

As USB is a single host thing, you noted a Y cable which I've never seen in over a decade 2 devices supported by any USB Y cable. At best I've seen power supplied but never more than 1 device per USB port unless there was an USB hub.

So no.

"support of multiple peripherals a plus"

The single USB port means one would have to try some USB hub to meet your goals.

Why not something more capable like the Asus T100?

That is a great idea and reasonable cost especially refurbished. Can I add a USB hub to its USB port since it has a separate charging port? Although I could run my sound device off the single port, the removable card storage is limited and might also want to add an external hard-drive. I have a simple non-powered 3.5 external USB drive that I would like to use.

In the case of the T100 since it's just a PC, it's just a PC so I guess only the fretful folk will worry.
