Origional CDs

Mercedes c180 CD player

I am facing a strange thing in my car CD player it plays only origional CDs CDs that I make at home from from music I made worked only once.

I thought selecting a protection option when writing a CD will make it the same as an origional CD but it didn't work.

What is the secret behind Origional CDs?

I am just asking out of Curiosity.

Commercial CDs are produced using an agreed upon format.

It is that format that many CD players are looking for. If you want to burn Cds that those players will play, you must burn them in the correct format. Many burner programs, like Nero or Roxio, can burn music in the required format. They can also burn 'data' CDs which contain files that a computer knows how to read. Music files can be on these CDs, but a player will not know what to do with them. Players also work best with CD-R disks.

That if you make a direct copy they work. I just copy my own personal CDs for use in two cars.
