C:\Windows\Options and see if there is a CABS folder in there with all the setup/installation files.
Many vendors put those files on the harddrive in addition to the original cd being given for the system (they don't do this anymore), and if you have an external burner cdrom or one is already in that ME system you can burn the whole Options folder or CABS folder to a cd and make a new installation disk.
You would still need the ME Product Code Key though for any new installation or a reinstall.....and it can be found in the registry at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS and click the words CurrentVersion in order for the individual listing to show up on the right hand side. If you scroll down a little way, you will see Registered Owner and then the Product Code/Key....make sure you write down exactly as shown or it won't work when you need it.
I put it in magic marker on the jewel case or paper sleeve for the cd, on the CD itself, and also tape it/glue it to the computer case itself (usually inside the case on a side panel or on the bottom of the case).
Since you service those computers, you might also want to go to http://www.belarc.com and download their small free program that fits on a floppy disk, and then run it on each system and print it out for each one. This will give you a complete history of all hardware installed along with mfr and model numbers and version numbers, all Product Code Keys for programs installed (registration/license numbers), all MS upgrades/hotfixes applied, etc.
Once printed you can include this report inside an enveloped taped to the inside panel of the case it goes to for handy reference later on.....saves you the trouble of having to pull out pci cards to identify hardware.
If you don't have a printer for each computer to print with, you can save the file to another floppy disk and print it from another computer easily.

I'm responsible for a computer here at a Senior Center. None of the original software can be found and I need to install a new printer. I looked for the appropriate DLL files but they're not there. I really don't want to reformat the HD and upgrade the system but will if I have to.
The existing configuration also would not accept a UBC printer. Any thoughts?
