Organising Templates in Word 2003

by nick0la / May 26, 2008 7:38 AM PDT

Ive got 100s of templates loaded into word 2003 and was wondering if there was a program to organize them all so only specific groups can access certain templates.

In reply to: Groups?

I have 3 divisions of the company accessing templates. They can all see each others templates, which is fine, however, there are so many templates it is hard to find some of them. What I want to acheive is to sort the templates so that division 1 can only see division 1 templates, division 2 can only see division 2 templates and so on. So when someone from division 1 goes to file-new and selects templates, from my computer, they will only see a couple of templates instead of hundreds of templates. What I wanted to know is if there was an application out there that would do the organizing, what would be the easiest solution to this problem?

I don't have Office 2003, only Office XP (=2002). In Tools>Options>File Locations it has different location for user templates and workgroup templates. Give each group it's own folder for workgroup templates, and it's done, I'd say.

Why not try "permissions"?

On your Windows server you would have your "groups" and you could deny them read access to said files.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
