Question

Ordered a 50la6970, but it does not match the description

Sep 21, 2013 1:05AM PDT

Wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this? The bezel is about a 1/2" thick as opposed to 1mm or whatever it's supposed to be, and the base is different than the one they advertise. Thr base is the one featured on the 50la6900. Did I get the wrong tv? The company i ordered fromis trying to give me the run around. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, I know it sounds strange. Spoke to LG customer service, they're pretty perplexed too. Even the software on the tv says its the right model. They think the company might be trying to pull a fast one on me, possibly marketing a refurbished tv as brand new. Thought I was getting a great deal, it sucks, but I'm in the process of disputing the charge with PayPal because the company I ordered from refuses to accept the facts that I've presented to them and won't offer me a return. Thanks for the reply.

50la6970 did not match advertised unit
Oct 8, 2013 2:18AM PDT

I just bought one online too. Opened the box and it has a much bigger bezel than the " ultra narrow bezel" which attracted me. The picture on LG's website and the picture on the box clearly do not show the 1/2" plastic frame applied all the way around the screen. It has a overall bezel of around 13/16" the the outside wrap around frame piece I was expecting. no unique narrow bezel here. Finnally got a LG supervisor on the horn after getting ignorant responses from a rep. He showed me the fine print on the very bottom of the spec page that they can change the specs and appearance of the unit without notice. Nice. I said that is fine but why did they not change the pictures and description of the unit on their website before shipping them out. That to me is false advertising. He said that
will be looked into but there was nothing he could do and this was industry standard. Have a nice day. This is not right. We now have to call before a purchase and double check that no changes were made and hope someone tell"s you the truth that the product lines up with the add. This was a major appearance change and thier barely readable disclaimer says they can ship us whatever they want. That can't be legal, disclaimer or not. If they change something we should be told. Right?

Such as small claims court but you bought this and they shipped that. You may have read the fine print but you also have rights beyond that in some states and countries.
