General discussion

optional speakers for plasma

Jan 1, 2005 5:20PM PST

I'm looking to purchase a 37" plasma TV for a place where there is only 38" of width space. This Panasonic, http://www.plasmabay.com/Plasma/Product.asp_X_Sku_Y_TH37PWD6UY
is 36.2" wide so it perfectly fits. However, this is the industrial version of this Panasonic,

so it does not come with speakers. I'd love to get the latter model with the speakers, however the space does not allow me to do so. I'm pretty sure that the speakers on the latter model are not detachable, so I will have to buy additional speakers for the industrial design TV. Panasonic does offer optional speakers for the industrial TV,

however these are priced at a pricey $500. I have some old home theater speakers laying around the house so I was wondering if I could just wire those up to the plasma instead of having to buy the special panasonic speakers. So basically, what kind of speakers can I use to hook up to the industrial plasma? Thanks a bunch!
