Yes there has been a problem with motor noise.
But it should look realy good on you TV, how are you hooking it up?
There have been good reports on the Panasonic GS150, so if you don't like the Sony give it a try at BB expense. John
My wife and I just bought the Sony HC42 last night. My wife is partial to sony but I just wanted something that works decent (or at least better than out old analog 8mm). I was looking at the Panasonic GS150 or a cannon in the same price range. I was utterly confused by the end of it all. At any rate, I just took some video this morning and to be honest the playback on our tv was grainy and it sucked. Our analog 8mm doesn't have this. My question is, is this going to be the norm with digital video? If not I'll try other cameras while Best Buy has a 45 day return policy right now over the holidays. I know one thing, the sony will probably go back. What other reviewers said about the motor noise is true. I played my sample back on our tv and I don't think that is considered quality. So, if anyone has any advice, opinions on this or recommendations please post.
