Resolved Question

Operating system

Apr 22, 2018 9:00PM PDT

Hi..
I am preparing my desktop pc for sale and was just trying to do a clean instal of Windows to get rid of my file history .

I have just tried to re-instal windows 10 from a USB thumb drive but come up with a message "Operating system wasnt found. Try disconnecting any drives that dont contain an operating system"

I am able to get to the BIOS by pressing F2 but not sure what to do next

The PC was working well before I tried this

Thanks in advance

Clarification Request
You attempted to boot to the USB stick?

If so, then something wrong with how you installed the bootable media to it. Has this stick worked before with the same bootable program already on it?

Give this a try

Enter the BIOS and make sure "Secure Boot" is disabled and that the boot mode isn't restricted to UEFI. If you have access to a PC other than Windows 10 or 8, try booting your USB stick from that.

- What did you do with the PC between the last time it worked and this message?
- How did you make that stick?
