Opera Mobile can not find proxy server with Wifi

Hi, I have a HTC Pure WM 6.5 that rarely can connect to the web using Wifi with Opera Mobile. Most of the time I get an error message: "can not connect to proxy server". Disabling the Proxy helps once in a while. Once Opera works it works for the entire session. Have any tips?

Clarification Request

I have never used a proxy on any of my PCs or mobiles. Can you reveal why you are doing that?

I have never used a proxy either.

Hi, I have never used a proxy either. I read in the HTC manual FAQ that disabling it could help get me online with Opera Mobile, I tried disabling or enabling the proxy it did not help. I have 3 HTC Pures WM 6.5 that all have the same problem: Opera Mobile will not go online using wifi most of the time, when it goes online it works fine and can be closed and reopened fine. If Opera fails to go online I can try to close and reopen it 10 times with no luck. The next day Opera might go online fine 1st try.

Then it's a bug.

Sorry but a few machines could have a bug like that . Since we rarely use a proxy and you have it turned off and since I don't see a new version of Opera for WM6, this is one of those things you'll have to live with.

It's nothing to do with proxy servers. It depends on the type of WiFi provider. If all you have to do is connect, it works fine. If it's one of those providers that jumps in and tries to take control to take you to their login page it can't cope with that. Well that's the way it seems on my phone!

Use UCBrowser!
