Opera browser

Jun 12, 2004 12:55PM PDT

I can't login to this form with my Opera Browser.

Is this because it is not supported by CNET or is it a fault at the Opera end? I have selected CNET and tried both the "lend settings for normal cookies" and also choosing "accept cookies for this server" - all to no avail. I like Opera because I can stop pop ups, control what is loaded into the browser windows, etc. use keyboard and mouse shortcuts but find there a few sites that I can't login to.

Any suggestions please?

I have no problem logging in to these forums with Opera. However, when I close Opera and come back to the forums, I have to log in again. I don't know why it is not retained.
What exactly happens when you try to log in? Detail the steps you take and exactly what happens at each step, and maybe we can figure it out.

Hello sheilakmcd,

When I try to login, type in email address and password, click login, page "refreshes", says sending information, etc then I just return to the original page I was on where it says "Guest/login". If I type in an incorrect password, I am told that the password/user name is invalid, but using the correct details I just keep going back to the original page when I tried to login. I still have 7.23.

Any suggestions? thanks.

The only way I could duplicate the behaviour you describe is by not checking Enable Cookies in Preferences-Privacy. If you have cookies enabled, bring up Help-About Opera and verify the path of Preferences file is correct.
