Resolved Question

opening old quicktime files

Apr 12, 2012 4:14AM PDT

Have some old video files on cd up to 10 years old, most will open ok but a few fail, tried quicktime pro, vlc, mplayer, handbrake, visual hub etc but none would open, but strangely if I right click and select 'quick view' most will open? what program does 'quick view' use?

If this is Mac OS X, that's in Finder.

According to my Apple developer this is not an app but in Finder.

If you put a small example on a Public DROPBOX link I can examine it with the tools I have.

Videos are of a private nature and not for public view. Blush

Without a sample to see the encoding, I'm unsure if this will be solved. But we do know there is a player in Finder so that's my answer. It's not an app unless we call Finder an app.
