Opening Microsoft Word documents in e-mail attachments

by nemolar / January 26, 2009 10:35 PM PST

When I create an e-mail message in Microsoft Outlook and attach a document which has been created using Microsoft Word, I want it to open as a Microsoft Word document. However, what actually happens when the document is opened is that it is opened in Adobe.

How can I change this?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for trying to help. I didn't understand much of what I read on that website about how to handle this situation.

However, in the meantime, I was tinkering around with some of the buttons at the top of the document, and discovered all I had to do was to click on the icon at the top of the document which said "Close Reading Layout". And the problem was solved! Now, when I open a .doc attachment to a Microsoft Outlook e-mail, I am now able to view the Microsoft Word document in the same way that I saw it when I was preparing it.

Thanks again.
