Microsoft no longer seems to supply a cleanup utility for Office and "pending installs" so I'll share that you might want to uninstall 2007 (2010 should not have any issue opening prior versions) so it won't try to install 2007.

I have Office 2010 installed on my laptop, and I used to be able to open 2007 documents, and after clicking "cancel" a few times when it would try to install and reconfigure 2007, it would open the document in Word 2010, but now it no longer does that.
What can I do so that 2007 documents will open in 2010 again like it used to?
