It's not likely to be statemgr.
I use a slightly better tool called STARTER which I note at http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6132-0.html?forumID=32&threadID=1313&start=0
When I boot the computer, a window opens showing the contents of the hard drive. The window is persistant and opens at EVERY start of the computer. It seems to be a generic window and I suspect it is IE Explorer, but don't know for sure.
Yes, Explorer is configured to retain each windows settings, so one would think that when you shut if down, windows would register this and NOT open the window at the next boot, but it still opens up.
Part of the msconfig is the "statemgr.exe" and by disabling this startup file, the window doesn't appear at boot up, but I am wondering what ELSE I am shutting off or down by disabling this windows file at boot.
Does anyone know what "statemgr.exe" is for?? Or, how I can go about finding our why this window is opening on boot up??
Any help would be appreciated....other than this quirk, the computer runs great!!!!!!!!
