Sorry to be so dense, but, hey, we all are newbies at something, some time.
I managed to write a text document, and save it, and print it, with no problem. So that part of Open Office works ok. Is there something I have to do to an .xls document, before it can print it?
I have an .xls file that was emailed to me from a company. It is an RMA form letter that I really need to print.
I have Open Office on XP Pro client notebook, using ICS and file/printer sharing to share a HP Deskjet932C on host computer running Win98SE. I normally can print ok from the client notebook to this printer.
I can open and view the document, but when I try to print, I get Open Office error, program must close.
I tried to export it as pdf so I could try to open and print from Adobe Reader, but I get same error when I try to export it.
To troubleshoot, does this sound like a bad file, or an Open Office problem, or what.
I delete emails from server when downloading, so I cannot refetch the file, but I can ask the company to resend it. I can uninstall and reinstall Open Office if that is what I need to do.
I have not used Open Office since I installed it a few months ago. I had just looked at it some, planning to teach myself how to use it. I have no word processing experience, and wanted to learn.
What can I do with it to test to see if it is the program itself is corrupt.
