Open letter to Flip-flop Candidate Kerry

Mar 4, 2004 5:06AM PST

Open letter to Candidate Kerry:

Presently, and for the next few months, a primary concern of most of the citizens of the USA, will be evaluation of candidates and election of a President of the USA. A very serious matter.

We have little confusion in evaluating your opponent. We have observed him as the President. We clearly see the course he has set for this country, and have observed how he has, and intends, to ?stay the course?.

In your case, Candidate Kerry, we have only?your word? to go on. In that you have chosen to be a public figure for many years, your thoughts and positions, on many issues, have been made a part of public record.

Understanding that any President, from any party, can only do what the Congress authorizes and finances, we have watched various Congresses frustrate the efforts of President after President. We have witnessed law after law, enacted by these Congresses, hobble to distinct disadvantage, the ability of the USA to effectively participate on a level playing field in world affairs.

So, Candidate Kerry, our questions to you: As differences might/do exist between you and your opponent in this election, Exactly what is your position on any/all specific issues; How do you suppose you can implement changes; What exactly is the ?course? you intend to set for this Nation, and in view of the public record, can you convince us that you will ?stay the course? on the positions you establish. Is this your ?Final Answer? ?

A Swing Voter would like to know ?

Hi Del:

Your subject line suggests that you've already made up your mind and that there is little likelihood you would "swing" in Kerry's direction regardless of how he would answer your questions.

Now that Kerry is the virtual nominee, we should start to hear more details about exactly how he proposes to do the job of President, and how his proposals differ from Bush's. I thought I read something about him releasing an economic plan soon.

I hope it's not a five year plan.

I'm sure the economy will respond promptly to Kerry's instructions.

Hi Josh,

Heh heh, if this antiquated software platform we're using would allow HTML would have used a gif image at the end of the post rather than text earlier. Picture worth words.

Actually, Josh, I am open to listening to any options that might be reasonable and achievable in todays world.

I'm fortunate to not be personally worried about employment; insurance; retirement, and am not liable to military service, although immediate family member is in uniform and over there, I have no personal axes to grind in this argument.

I am amazed, and puzzled, at the habitual flip floppying on the part of Kerry, over the years. As I indicated in the letter above, we shouldn't have questions of President Bush, we see what he is all about, and is available for interpretation. Kerry,
on the other hand, is asking us to take him at his word. Political rhetoric is cheap, and it takes a bit of convincing.

I am concerned for this country, now and into the future, and future generations. I absolutely don't believe in a socialist environment, nor do I believe in a caste system. IMO, at the moment, we have strong elements of both in the US, and they are both becoming stronger politically, unfortunately. And this concerns me far more than Iraq or terrorism or off shore migration of production. This social stress frustrates cohesion within the population, and therefor, the political issues facing this nation. Just my opinion.

So I am looking for better ways, and better ways will never be found looking within political parties. The will and effort 'to win' above all else, is too strong.

Not a Kerry advocate but...

I couldn't resist editing your letter.

"We clearly see the course he has" - LET HIS ADVISORS - "set for this country, and have observed how he has" BEEN DIRECTED - "to ?stay the course?" Devil

Might be, but.............
