First of all an upconverter will ONLY upconvert using an HDMI cable. If your using component cables you will only ever get 480p never anything higher. Second, once you get it hooked up with HDMI, you will more than likley have to go into the setup menu of the upconverter and set to whatever resolution you want it to upconvert to. 720p, 1080i or 1080p. Thats your answer, lemme know how it works out for ya! =)
Hi,
I just got a Pioneer DV-410-V-K 1080p up-converting DVD player and I have it hooked up to component to my TV. When I play a DVD I am only getting 480p, when my TV supports up to 1080p. I tried a couple of different DVD and I am still only 480p. I know that component only supports up to 1080i. So I am wondering why for some reason I am only getting 480p not 720p or 1080i.
Thank You
