General discussion

online website management

Feb 16, 2007 2:51AM PST

Hi,

One of my website customers wants to edit himself some simple things on his website online. There are so many content management systems out there, it's confusing. Can someone recommend a not so expensive package?

Thanks,

esebm

What does he want to be able edit? Just some text on a few pages? Images? Page layouts? Add/remove pages? Design?

I took care of a website

The website was a prefabricated one. They used basic html.

To make a simple website for your customer I would recommend

Give them a username and password.

A info page with their name, email address, address, payment types.

The ability to upload Pictures, banners, gifs and maybe thumbnail images.

Let them use html.

A PayPal shopping cart would be nice.(This could be connected to the info page)

Instructions for them on how to do things and let them know that if they have any questions that you are available for them(email address). If you have any special services that you provide, them let them know about this. The website that I used to take care of, I updated with monthly specials and everyone would get the information and could buy online. I could change the prices for a quick discount. Had images of the items for sale. The best thing to do is

K eep
I t
S imple
S tupid

Keep everything as simple as you possibly can.

Hope this helps.
