Question

Online services for laptop repair recommendations

May 3, 2017 4:23PM PDT

I have a nasty virus/malware on my pc that I thought I could fix myself. I've done it before. But this time it's more complicated. And now the Windows 10 login option has disappeared from my start screen. I've tried all the keyboard options to try and resrart or restore but nothing is working. Can anyone recommend an online tech service that specializes in this stuff? I was looking at Geek Buddy's website but I'm not sure. I need some advice or recommendations. I would appreciate it. Thanks!!

While it sounds like a deeply damaged OS.

I'd first check that my files were on backups. Use another OS like I noted years ago at http://tips.oncomputers.info/archives2004/0401/2004-Jan-11.htm then factory reset it with the restore media you made when you got the machine. Order that if need be.

You don't have to pay for online services. Here I find my CNET members to be helpful and if it's a really nasty that Bleepingcomputer.com can't handle, then the factory reset is the cheap exit.

regarding online service

you can't have Online support in your Laptop in this condition of your laptop.

To get Online Support the Technical Expert needs your laptop to be open and connected to the internet.
By using this internet in your system they can login into your system and can do repairs.
So, in my opinion, you should not wait for Online Support.
