Online Retailer Survey (list of stores inside)

Aug 29, 2005 1:18PM PDT

Just wanted to get everyone's opinion of the following online retailers plus any additions you may have. Yes, I realize online retailers are risky depending on who you get with, yada yada yada. I'm just looking for input about each individual store. Thanks.

Any One Of These Located In Brooklyn Avoid Like The Plague!!

They are all clip joints. The ways they will try and rip you off is astonishing,

This is what the term "buyer beware" was devised for. They are loathesome crooks to a one.

Have you had any experience with any of them?

Which ones in particular have you had experience with that lead you to that conclusion? This is why I ask is for specifics to see what everyone thinks, not just an overall idea. Several of sites like these are not located in New York and are authorized dealers. Just asking. Thanks.

...These creeps should be thrown in jail. tried to buy my Sony plasma from them. they advertise a ridiculously low price and then try to charge you for supplied accessories....like the pedestal the TV sits on!!! And that's just the beginning of their underhandedness. Ultimately they gave me a song and dance about the TV having to ship from "their California warehouse." When the unit hadn't arrived on the day they promised I called and they told me some lame lie about the unit having to be returned to the warehouse and now they were "out of stock." It was all a big scam!

I told them in no uncertain terms that they were scum and crooks, that I was cancelling my order and that if they even dreamed of charging my credit card I'd file a criminal charge against them with the Brookly DA's office. I immediately called my credit card company and was relieved to find that I had not been charged. Later that day I arranged to buy the same TV from Vanns.com. The difference was like night and day. Totally professional gentlemen and ladies. the unit arrived in PERFECT condition 5 days after I placed the order. $3,495 for a 42" Sony plasma (KDE-42XS955). No delivery charges, no tax.

Stay away from these clip joints in Brooklyn. You'll be very sorry if you don't. At best you'll get repackaged or grey market goods, at worst you'll simply be ripped off.

As they say "caveat emptor."
