Online retailer question_-_anvidirect.co.uk

by El Viking / August 14, 2006 7:42 AM PDT

I've been on the hunt for a MacBook for a while and I just recently found this web-site: www.anvidirect.co.uk

It looks pretty professional and the prices are the cheapest I could find, but I still have slight doubts that they are legit. If any of you have any knowledge as to the validity of this site I would greatly appreciate hearing it. Thanks a lot!

I see an issue with warranty.

Apple, HP and others dismiss warranty claims if you import the unit rather than follow their delivery chain.

Be sure to get that warranty in writing and ask apple.uk

Suspicious payment
by mrroach1 / August 16, 2006 9:32 PM PDT

The thing that made me suspicious is that they only accept Western Union for purchases from the US. That seems like an easier system to defraud that Visa. I wouldn't buy through them personally.

"Western Union for purchases" = never.

Thanks for the info

I found the payment to be a little odd myself, even though I have never heard of any of these types of scams. Thanks a ton!

Don't Know
by GO MACS! / August 20, 2006 10:44 AM PDT

I have also found this website and would like to know whether it is real or a scam. I have also found another website called "rosofstore.com" with even lower prices. They both look legit but I can't find reviews of either site.

If anyone knows or finds out anything about how real these sites are, then post what you know.

If they are taking payments by Western Union, you only have to read one more link to figure it out.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
