No cloud is considered secure today. It's that simple. There are folk that want to assure us but most of them have a cloud to sell. Read about what happened to Lavabit and see why you can't have an locked up for sure cloud today.
That said, all seem pretty secure but the fact that our governments mandate backdoors means that such is open to security issues.
-> On top of that, here's another proof it's not secure. Let's say your site/cloud is password protected. If you lose the password and they can reset it for you that means it really wasn't that secure.
As to the other features, those sites let you test drive so you can say yes or no.
I am new to these online platforms to share and store photos. I am trying to choose one to store and share photos to only be viewed by me and my immediate family, my questions between Flickr and Google Photo are:
1. Which one gives better privacy that our photos won't be accessible to the public? Which one is less sensitive to hacking, etc? We only want the photos viewed by the family we select it to be viewed by.
2. We want to upload photos from lots of random folders previously stored on our desktop and backup storage devices, which one provides an easy way to upload many photos at once?
3. We hope to store these photos as a family album for decades, does either website limit your membership in time (I know google+ you have to pay $5/year).
4. We want to include a blurb about each photo (what was happening in the photo) and allow others to make comments as well, do both Flickr and Google allow you to do this?
5. In the folders they are currently in, the photos have the time and date they were taken digitally saved under properties. We would like the date they were taken to be included in the album automatically, does either program include the date?
6. We want to organize the photos by year, does either program help users do this by any automatic method?
7. Does either program have tools that make photos somehow searchable? Like by keywords in the blurb or something to that effect?
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me out with this!
