Yes, you can absolutely do a forced sync from Treo to laptop. Go to the Hotsync Manager and click custom. Then, under Calendar, Contacts, etc. change the option to "Handheld Overwrites Desktop." Do not put a check next to "Set as Default." That should help. If anyone else has any ideas, feel free to share them.
Faulty RAM in my laptop caused a database corruption, so my Treo 650's schedule became unavailable on Palm Desktop. PD told me it was renaming my stuff by putting .001 at the end of the filenames. A few stray items are in the database that PD then gave me, rather than it being a total blank. Is there such a thing as one-way sync so that I can refresh my laptop from the Treo without fear of polluting the Treo? What action should I take at this point? (Of course, I have replaced the bad RAM)
Probably another topic: I have a 1GB SD module in my phone, can I dump the entire phone to it, zip it, and store the backup in Gmail?
