Win XP - broadband - NAV - Epson Stylus C44ux printer.
A virus W32.HLLW.Gaobot.gen appeared on my puter. NAV unable to repair so .....
All day trying to get to grips. In the end I went into System. Used the scan on each folder as the trojan horse had sent it's worm. Found 2 out of 13:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\explore.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winhlpp32.exe
I have these two into quarantine as I didnt know how to repair the files.
The other 11 are:
C:\System Volume Information\_restore(351BC784-9AD6-46E4-90D5-EA7404F1FD00)\RP24\A0001749.EXE

I could not find these files/folders at all. I opened NAV and under 'Options' - 'Manual Scan' - 'Exclusions' - ''What items to be excluded'' - there was the item I couldnt find 'System Volume Information'. I can only assume the worm placed it in NAV to be excluded from a virus scan!! So, I 'removed' it from this exclusion and guess what? I dont know where it has gone. I then did a full scan of my puter & it says no viruses.
Anyone got any advise please as to how I can find this 'worm' and quarantine it or repair?
Sorry to be so long winded but hope you are able to help me
Thank you so much
