Question

One particular website not opening

May 10, 2017 8:30PM PDT

I am facing a very weird problem right now. One particular website (mondotimes.com) is not opening in my browser. I have tried all the possible solution described on other post of this forum but still no good. Most weird thing is when i am trying to open the above website with my cellphone it's opening without any problem.
My cell phone network and my pc network are same as i am using cellphone internet over wifi-hotspot in my pc.
When i am trying to open the website with a broadband connection provided by local ISP then it's opening

Now question is
If there is any problem associate with my cellphone internet connection then why it's opening in cellphone browser?
If there is any problem with my pc then why the website is opening while it's connected to broadband network?

Please help me out, it's really frustrating.

Answer
Frustrating IP address issue?
May 17, 2017 6:45PM PDT

I have exactly the same issue. When I use the house modem I can't see one particular web site (on my iMac computer, laptop or Windows desktop) and and since it is also the domain name used in my email addresses I get no emails coming in or out. But when I turn on my mobile wifi modem all is fine. All is fine too when I use my iPhone to load that same web site and emails. It appears to be related to the IP number I get because when I switch off my modem and then switch the power back on again that solves the problem but only for that one load up of the web site. My ISP points all the blame on Telstra and when I ring them to complain about this anomaly (this takes hours and hours out of my valuable time) they simply tell me to buy a static IP address for $10/mth. When I ask them if this will definitely solve my issue they become rather vague and start talking IT gibberish. I hate all this running around that I have to do and wish I had more technical understanding. I am now concerned that even if I sign up to paying $10/mth (something that Telstra has recommended) for a static IP it will not solve my current problem long term. If anyone can shed light on this whole messy issue I am sure that arojitkuet and myself would lead a far less stressful life.

If you need to know how, google this.

How do I use the Google DNS on my Apple iMac?
