Question

One of my HDMI port won't work?

Apr 3, 2018 6:23AM PDT

Hi.

So I have my computer which I wanna be connected to my Samsung PC screen and my TV screen. Well the thing is that one of my HDMI ports dosen't seem to work.

To explain, I will call my first HDMI port, HDMI A, and my second HDMI Port (I don't have more than 2) HDMI B.

The thing is when I put a HDMI cable from my Samsung screen into HDMI A, and the HDMI Cable from my TV Screen into HDMI B, only my Samsung screen will show anything. If I switch that to having my TV Screen cable plugged into HDMI A, and my samsung screen HDMI cable plugged into HDMI B, only my TV will show something. Now I have already tried windows key + P and those different options where nothing helped.

And acutally when I first got my PC, I plugged it into my HDMI B port, and it wouldn't show anything, but it would if I plugged it into my HDMI A.

Sorry if is a too long question, but I really hope someone can help me.

Thanks, Thomas Happy

But what is it?

I see no PC details beyond 2 HDMI ports. Some desktops disable the onboard HDMI and for video cards you have to install the maker's drivers as a Microsoft selected driver won't get all the features working.

You described the problem but not the machine. Tell more about the PC and how you choose drivers.

Make sure that you go into your PC/Laptop settings and designate HDMI as the default output connection. ... Try booting up your PC/Laptop with the HDMI cable connected to a TV that is on. You can try booting up the PC/Laptop while the TV is off and then turn on the TV.
