Let me say I have explained it but the real question each time is how to fix it. For that I use the drivers and settings from Dell to fix it. Now some will pan that disable setting but I must remind those again that ... that's how it worked in XP SP1 so it is not a sin.

I have a Dell Optiplex GX620 running 2002 XP Pro. My keyboard, printer and mouse are connected via USB. For the past year my USB cable for my Fugifilm FinePix S3100 has been connected to an additional USB port, because I take large numbers of photographs for our office records. I have never had the error message until today, when I connected the cable to the camera. Now every single USB port on my computer gives the power surge message, as well as other computers in the office. Anyone have any thoughts as to why this would suddenly happen after working perfectly fine for such a long time? or why connecting the cable and camera to other computers with same OS etc. would now produce this power surge error?
