Resolved Question

One final question about social media account logins malware

Nov 26, 2016 4:02PM PST

I have one final question and i'll finish annoying you with my crazy questions. The question here is specifically about Facebook since all my work comes to it.
Is there any danger that i can infect my devices by logging to facebook account? Can the account itself get compromised? I have found info about it and it seems that facebook malwares are contained in apps that once you tap on they start to duplicate and resent messages to your wall, friendlist and so on. Its states that once you clear your cookies and remove any suspicious apps it shoud go away. So my questions is there any possible danger for your device Windows/Android/iOS to get infected by simply logging to any facebook account, if somehow the account was infected at the first place?

Firstly, you're not annoying us. It's what we do.

When using Facebook, don't click on any links that are presented unless you know who it is. Don't click on any links such as videos unless it's from a trusted source. The person in charge here is YOU! Yes, you tube has been compromised, but a little common sense will see you through.

I don't know which browser you're using but u Block Origin and Web Of Trust will warn you about bad sites. Google for them.

Yes, i've never dones uch mistake in my life

Yes ofcourse, i know very well what links to open and so on, i've never in my life had any virus malware or whatsoever. The only mistake i've ever done is that i dind't realized the possibility that my devices can be physically compromised and the windows/android passwords could get bypassed unnoticably. So in this i was wondering if someone had access to one of the accounts that i manage, if he can deliberately somehow program the accunt to infect any device that logs to it (like my hacking the login credentials or whatsoever)

What's with that last line?

"(like my hacking the login credentials or whatsoever)".
I hope you're not "hacking".

Haha no no Happy I am just typing way to fast. I meant by hacking the login credentials, so somehow to execute some malware or maliscious code simply by me logging to the account Happy

Just to point out if you are wondering why so many questions

One of the reasons of this paranoia things is because, as i once mentioned, i am managing account of a few people, one of whom is important figure here in my town, and if by any means something gets compromised, leaks out or whatsoever everything will fall on me.

I also believe that all those antiviruses and malwares will atleast detect something if keyloggers, remote access programs and so on are acting. Plus as you said, the chance for such conspiracy to survive factory reset and later reinstall are way too minimal.
