On W7 startup, error: "...clsid-not-found.." How can I fix?

Apr 30, 2015 7:04AM PDT

I have an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC, running Windows 7 Pro 64bit, and get this error intermittently at windows start up:

An internal error occurred (object: clsid-not-found(Object:Remote:CLIENT|(Object:Remote:PROTOCOL_LOCAL|FV:ServerApp:00000001) CID_Safe Archive: File Archive Cache))
'...clsid-not-found..."

Is this where to start? If so:
In Device Manager, Biometric Devices, Properties, Tab: General (says working properly)
Says it is: Validity Sensors (WBF) (PID=001Cool
Tab: Driver - I've clicked button: Update Driver, and it says is current.
Is it safe to:
1) Disable and then Enable (to see if issue is resolved, and if not,
2) Uninstall and Reinstall? - If I try this, is there any trick to find and reinstall the driver?

Thanks for any help you can provide,
- Jeff

Thoughts.

1. System Restore to a day it worked.

2. Go get AUTORUNS and see if it's in autorun area. Then delete that item.

Remember I take it for granted you googled this error and need other ideas than what I see in prior discussions.

Not resolved....

Re System Restore: I've had this intermittent error for several months now, and since have taken many Restore Points, install software, updates, etc. I wouldn't know which point to pick and it would back out many things, so that isn't an option.

Re AUTORUNS, if you are talking about Auto-Start (or Windows Startup), or auto Scheduled Tasks, I'm not sure what I'd be looking for. (and don't want to disable or delete anything that is actually needed)

So, unfortunately, these ideas don't work for me.

Any other thoughts?

You can reinstall the driver, the deep way if needed, showing hidden devices in device manager, selecting show by CONNECTION (view) and deleting the whole chain inherited and superseded by finger-touch sensor.

Re your suggestion on Device Manager / View by Connection

I looked here (Devices by Connection, including Hidden Devices) and don't see any similar to 'Biometric Devices' as I do in the View: by Device Type. Didn't see any like 'finger-touch sensor' either..
Thanks for the idea, but I don't know what to do next here.
