CNET Computer Off or On Link
If you'd like to add your comments to that topic, you're welcome, but because there's really no need to clog up the forums with multiple threads about the same thing, I'm locking this thread.
Hope this helps.
(beyond general opion/personal preference)
If one is using their computer daily, is it better to;
(**given that Security is not an issue)
1. Keep it On [most or all] of the time?
2. Turn it Off when not in use?
Which option will;
a. cause more strain on system resources/monitor
b. cause more wear on the system/motherboard
Would these options be different for someone running;
1. Windows XP, 9x, MAC or other OS's
2. DSL, Cable, Dial-up or no Internet connection
If the answer varies depending on OS & Internet connection and/or work load, can someone answer in detail, per combination/circumstances?
