Question

On Off for Samsung TV

I am using a Samsung UED5000 LED TV as a digital display screen in a cabinet to run media through it and am looking for a way to control the on/off (standby) times of it remotely through an attached Shuttle D525 dual core small form pc.

There is no software installed on the TV but would be very interested if anyone knows of any system of installing software on to the screen or what software would work on to the screen to control these functions in some way through a computer.

Additional hardware is not an option at the front of the screen as it is in a cabinet with no access to the IR pick-up at the front.

Perhaps a challenge for all of you geniuses out there.

Can you help me please?

Re: on/off

This is a rather uncommon question, so I don't think there already is an app for that.

So contact Samsung to be registered as an app developer, get the SDK (Software Development Kit) and start programming.

Answer
I'm going with no.

From a prior discussion we hammered out that on/off is via the IR controls. Looks like your system designer goofed this one up.
