On a budget - Which low capacity player?

Oct 20, 2007 5:59AM PDT

I'm looking for an MP3 player that's cheap, has a display, comes with decent earphones, and has good audio quality (though the quality of earphones will probably determine this, right?). Hm, maybe the decent earphones part is asking too much.

I'm considering the Sansa c240 1 GB Photo and the Philips SA4010.

The Sony 2GB Walkman Video looks really tempting, but I'm probably not going to use any MP3 player I have for video. I don't know if I should just go for it, since it's not that much more expensive than other low capacity players.

The Sony looks promising...

I haven't had any experience with Sony mp3 players, but I've heard numerous complaints about previous models....not about the players themselves but the SonicStage software that you had to use to put music on them. But Sony has done away with SonicStage with its new players, that barrier is gone. The sound quality, with its premium headphones, should be great.

a good mp3 player

well if you want a pretty cheap one with good sound quality you could go for anything other than an ipod because ipods are rated to have average sound quality while others such as creative, sandisk, and meizu are said to have excellent sound quality which you can get for some really good prices if you look around.

Meizu vs. Sony sound quality?

I know that they're probably very comparable? I've heard more excellent recommendations for Meizu sound quality than Sony, though I read that they're both very good.
