on 512 ram?

my brothers laptop has 512 megabytes of ram, currently using windows xp. but is it possible to run windows 8 on a pc with 512mbs?

There's a bunch that will run just fine witl 512 mb. I like Linux Lite for that -> https://www.linuxliteos.com/ , Puppy's outstanding and so is Lubuntu and Kubuntu but he didn't ask for this...Digger ..P.S. Afternoon Dafydd Cool

used less then 1 gb of ram so the processor would be older also and it may not meet the minimum requirements also.

CNETt had an article today about a Dell with the new haswell processor (i3) for 399.99. It's a great deal.
