Olympus Stylus 410-great camera despite CNET review.

Aug 30, 2004 7:48AM PDT

I have had this camera all summer it is great. Pictures were good, Long battery life and above all durabilty has been great. I was at the beach all summer and the stylus fought off all that inevitable sand.
My Canon Elph 210 is a wimp by comparison.
I haven't seen any justification for the mediocre review by CNET.

I read the CNET review.

I read the review and was surprised to see that the reviewer kept denigrating the camera because it did not have certain manual override controls.

The 410 is a point-and-shoot camera and the reviewer wants it to be something it isn't.

The scoring system the reviewer uses is detrimental to point-and-shoot cameras and presents an unfair bias for certain cameras.

I am very disappointed with the reviewer(s), whoever they are.

Did you notice the reviews presented by the owners of the camera. They did not support the CNET reviewers conclusions at all.

I didn't agree with the review and went nervously ahead with the purchase. I am glad that I did. After 6 months of heavy use this camera is great.

What made me speak out is this weeks front page article that points to the Stylus 410 as a camera NOT to Buy.
