Olympus M:Robe MR-100? Anyone?

Jan 24, 2005 2:46AM PST

Has anyone bought or heard anything about this little player? It looks slick, but I have no idea about the features or quality of it. If you've tried it or own it, I'd love to hear from you.

Olympus m:robe MR-100 review (Immense Photo Gallery)
Jan 25, 2005 4:59AM PST

Here are some links that might help.

I would highly recommend reading the comments that follow the first review as it appears that there are currently some firmware issues that have been acknowledged by Olympus.

Everyone here ought to check out the photo gallery contained in this first article. I have never seen such an exhaustive collection of product photographs. It really makes me wonder why manufacturers are so stingy in this regard as they ought to be in a position to show off their products better than anyone else. I would also suppose they would have more to gain from properly exhibiting their own products. Am I missing some other explanation?

M:Robe

I know it has an UNBELIEVABLY low singal to noise ratio of 70 something....LOW sound quality...In the 90's are good but anything lower sounds like crap...imagine how 70 would sound

m:robe 100 & m:robe 500 sound quality
Jan 31, 2005 2:34AM PST

Even after a careful search of their site, I was unable to locate the signal / noise ratio of the m:robe 100. I expected to find it on this page:

http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_product_robe.asp?product=1145&fl=4

I was, however, able to find the signal to noise ratio of the m:robe 500 (MR-500i) at a meager 75 dB as shown here:

http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_product_robe.asp?product=1146&fl=4

Am I alone in my amazement that a pricey player released in 2005 would measure less than 90 dB?
