Olympus C-7000 Blurry

Sep 25, 2005 10:57AM PDT

I just traded in my Olympus stylus 4000 today for the C-7000. I never had a problem with blurry pictures until now. Unless I have the flash open I can not seem to get a clear picture. Does anyone have any suggestions? Everything I read says to just keep your hand steady. I have been about as steady as it is going to get taking pictures. I don't want to have to use a tripod every time I want to take a picture.

Please help, I'm very sad about this new purchase.

Since it is brand new, I would take it back and ask for an exchange.

The C-7000 should not have a blurring problem.

Since it is a new camera, there is the possibility of a defect.
There is also the possibility of needing to adapt to the new camera.
So the first thing to do is find out which.

Put on your Shirlock Holmes hat:

1.
Take several photos with the camera sitting on a solid surface.
You can even use the shutter timer to take the photo, that way you will not be touching the camera when the shutter snaps.

2.
Review the EXIF information in the photo file of some of the blurred photos you have taken.
Check the EXIF shutter speed, f-stop, focal length, ISO settings.
