Older programmes designed for win 98 etc. running on XP.

I have several older programmes which I used on a windows 98 platform. I would like to run these on my new computer running XP hm. service pack 2. These programmes are on 3.5" floppies. How do I go about loading and running these programmes? Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

It's simple. You test each one.

Depends... Some programs will work just as they did under Win98 under XP. Some programs try to do things that XP won't allow (like directly access hardware), and there's nothing you can do to make those programs work.

A few programs will need to make use of the compatibility settings avaliable in XP, which can be accessed via the Properties sheet.

If it is software you need to download new drivers at the manufacturers site. My camera and printer are working great. On programs they just usually have to be reinstalled like WinZip etc. If you have the original records it is good to get the latest updates.
