General discussion

Older Macs.

Aug 5, 2007 2:35PM PDT

I am a devoted Mac user and have felt a need to look for an older PowerPC Mac. I have a new Intel Mac, but I am also looking for a well-priced iBook or Powerbook. I'm interested in either:

1. A 17 inch 1.67Ghz Powerbook G4
2. A 14 inch 1.44 (or whatever speed it is) Ghz iBook G4
or 3. A 12 inch 1.5Ghz Powerbook G4

I'm only interested in finding one of the above in a "new" condition for under $700. eBay may be my only answer, but I have found a site that has refurbished iBooks for very good prices. It is called teksale.com and I may end up going there.

But I'd rather buy a new-in-the-box one with all of the accessories and Mac OS disks that a brand new Mac laptop would come with. If anyone has some good suggestions, please let me know.

I have a need for a smaller companion, so anyone with info on cheap, but new iBooks or 12 inch Powerbooks please post. I'd be most appreciative.

that you will be able to buy a New, still in the box, G4 anything.

It is possible that Apple still have them for sale in their Refurbished section of the store.

Failing that, eBay or teksale may be your best options.

Thanks, but I hope others can point me in the best direction available, if I don't have it already.

I have found some pretty good deals on eBay, but I don't know what there will be in another month or so when I actually look to getting something.

Oh well.
