That BIOS option simply tells

the system which type to look for first, it's for the sole purpose of saving a little boot time.

Many BIOSes will automatically disable the onboard video when it detects another video card [of any type].

Does your mobo have an AGP socket?? Have you looked in the BIOS to see if you can disable the onboard video.

Never really heard of a mobo that won't accept a PCI video card.

The jumpers are set to PSWD and 500 MHz .... there is NO option about disabling it in the BIOS!

You didn't say...

What bios version you have.

In some, you can't change this and the detection of where the monitor is, is automatic. Your post lacks detail of what you have done.

I ment on the monitor the light does not go green!

Sorry, but you don't seem to understand this detail.

I'm not there. You have to tell us everything.

Such as what happens when you power up with the video cable on the new card... Or if the monitor never shows, then what happens (don't power down!!!) when you move the video cable to the old connection.

You must understand that we are not there and can't know every step you take, the sound of an OS loading or not.

When I first got it for my computer (Emachine) I poped it in the same thing happened I disabled onboard VGA WORKED! Same happens on this .... the computer WORKS still sound and everything, the fan on the 5200 spins happerly BUT the monitor doesn't come on ... I unplug (the monitor cable) it then pop it in the onboard on, works!

I think my problem is, is telling the computer not the USE onboard GFX!

OR...

If you can't do that, just leave it on the display that works, install the video card drivers for the Nvidia then head in the device manager (XP) and change the box for the onboard video to read "Not used in this configuration."

The next time Windows boots it should use the other display connection. However the BIOS will display on the original.

On an old machine this may be as good as it gets.
