You can connect the television to the receiver. I noted that this is an older receiver, which suggests that it likely doesn't have the surround sound features. I'm assuming this is two-channel stereo, correct? No surround sound?
If that's the case, you can port out the audio through the RCA ports on the back of the television located here:
Connecting the receiver is fine, however, if you do that, it will be difficult to get audio out of both the TV speakers and the receiver, so you'll have to go into the Audio section of the TV's menu and mute the television speakers. Otherwise, you'll likely have a delay (echo) effect with both the TV speakers and receiver running. It will also allow you to control you volume better.
Here's how to do that:
Does that help?
We would like to connect our old Yamaha CR-2020 receiver (which is in mint condition) to our Samsung LN52A750 LCD TV. We have a digital hd dvr which is provided by our cable company and a LG BD390 blu ray player. How would I connect the receiver or should I? The television is connected to the cable box via HDMI and the blu ray player is also connected via HDMI. Would appreciate suggestions.
